31st August 2011 – The Walk

31st August 2011 - The Walk

It’s the last day of the month and those of us in this part of England will have noticed that once again darkness is coming earlier in the evening. This was the thought that came to mind as I walked along this path.

The street lights now come on as I make my way home from work via London Bridge.

That was Summer! I can’t remember it starting and I’m struggling to remember the really hot days.

Summer is slipping away and I can’t help but feel a little cheated. Should have stayed longer

  1. Really odd instant response to your post: I read your last sentence as if there were an *I* in it. I should have stayed longer —Been with it longer? Paid more attention to it? I don’t think that’s at all what you meant — I think you’re upbraiding summer (albeit gently) — but it must be poetry if it can inspire diverse responses!
