16th June 2011 – Looking for the Detail
If you read my post yesterday, you will know that I have reduced hearing in my right ear. I hope this is only a temporary condition. Today I played a little by blocking my good ear, to see how muffled and unclear the world’s sound became.
When I did this I found that by concentrating hard I could detect most of what was being said when close to the speaker. However much like this picture, I knew I was missing a lot.
This image was taken through the window of a train. It illustrates to me what partial hearing must be like – Always looking for the detail that you know is there.
What a fantastic post! I love how what you have done here, how you’ve captured hearing loss in such a unique way. I really like this.
